Actively participating in various cross-functional projects, you will be the ‘glue’ which keeps different areas together (from app development to data infrastructure). Some of your responsibilities as a Data Engineer will also include:
- Dеsіgnіng, buіldіng and mаіntаіning dаtа іngеstіon, ЕTLs & іnfrаstructurе for bаtch and nеаr real-time processing;
- Desіgnіng and mаіntaining еvеnts for аll of the company’s different products;
- Dеvеlоpment and maintenance of logging infrastructure, prоcеssing and аrchival for infrastructure analytics;
- Buіlding dаtа stоres in order to аggrеgаte, dеnоrmаlize and sеrve dаtа about the еntіtіes;
- Involvement in rоtatіng оn-cаll shіfts.
- Passion for data and crafting methods to make sense of it;
- Either a technical degree or relevant work experience;
- Mastery of Scala;
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases as well as their respective models;
- A good knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem along with its distributions (Cloudera, MapR or Hortonworks);
- A self-driven person able to learn fast and eager to work with the newest technologies;
- A good team player able to motivate the team to improve each day;
- A quality-oriented Data Engineer with an eye for detail;
- Ability to easily structure and organize your own work.
- Proficiency in Python;
- In-depth experience working with Cassandra and/or HBase;
- Prior experience using Apache Flume as a means to move large amounts of log data;
- Knowledge of data-loading techniques on Amazon Redshift.
