Your Role:

The company is currently looking for a skilled, forward-thinking and proactive Database Administrator who would take ownership of its DBA infrastructure and help drive its online trading products to new heights. The role implies close collaboration with many departments within the company. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for a distributed setup of MySQL instances. More specifically, you will:

  • Support stability and performance of production databases. This includes, but is not limited to, replications, audit and hot backup tasks.
  • Resolve DB functionality related issues. 
  • Work tightly with the dev team and a sysadmin to optimize database operations;
  • Provide expert support in database design and architecture.
  • Deal with query tuning, write stored procedures, etc. for new and current services and applications.
  • Work on automation of database deployments and DR procedures.
  • Write tech documentation and share knowledge within the IT department.

Your qualification:

  • 3+ yrs of experience operating MySQL databases under Linux.
  • Broad SQL, query tuning, and stored procedures writing experience.
  • Experience with data replication and performance tuning. 
  • Knowledge of Python, Bash, Perl, or any other scripting language.
  • Interest in making systems more stable and reliable.
  • Mastery of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Proactive by nature with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
