Your Role:

The company is now on the lookout for a Senior Linux System Engineer to join its proactively thinking Systems Engineering team full-time in Amsterdam. Together with your teammates, you’ll be in charge of operating, monitoring, improving, and extending the company’s complex IT infrastructure. Tech stack: Linux (CentOS 6/7), KVM, Apache, Tomcat, nginx, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Redis, Zabbix, Ansible, Logstash, Git, etc.

As a Linux System Engineer, your mission will involve:

  • Identifying and resolving tech issues with the company’s distributed infrastructure. 
  • Developing solutions to prevent those issues from happening again in the future.
  • Analyzing existing systems for possible improvements.
  • Automating routine tasks, building tools and scripts to optimize daily operations.
  • Collaborating with developers.
  • Enhancing monitoring solutions and handling system outages.
  • Keeping systems up to date in regards to security compliance.
  • Researching, evaluating and implementing new solutions and systems.

Your qualification:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems/DevOps Engineer in a Linux-based environment.
  • Good Python/Shell scripting skills.
  • Experience operating multi-server infrastructure (100+).
  • Good grasp of Computer Science and Software Engineering principles.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid knowledge of security concepts.
  • Experience with the technologies and services the team is using, operating, and relying on.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
